My Role
This was a contract project during the end of 2016. I was brought in to produce the high fidelity mockups for a series of site wide update to facebook.com/audiencenetwork on desktop and mobile. I worked closely with the lead UX designer and all mockups were turned over to Facebook’s in-house development team to implement.
FACEBOOK AUDIENCE NETWORK
Facebook Audience Network helps publishers monetize their mobile apps and mobile websites through access to over 4 million global Facebook advertisers. Audience Network uses powerful people-based marketing to make it easy for publishers to show their audience better, more relevant ads while driving the best results for advertisers.
Featuring real-time optimization capabilities, Audience Network supports the most engaging and valuable formats, like custom native units for display and video, as well as standard interstitial and banner formats.
PROJECT CHALLENGES
BRAND WITHIN A BRAND
As a sub-brand of Facebook there were two tiers of best practices to adhere to. Those driven by the Facebook Audience Network team and those overarching terms of Facebook itself.
AN EVOLVING BRAND
Midway through Facebook’s launch of Facebook Audience Network, they commissioned Nucleus in the UK to create a standalone brand for the product. This meant that retroactive design work was needed to onboard existing elements of the Facebook Audience Network site to the new brand.
SMALL WINDOWS
Development for any Facebook projects are done through Facebook’s internal development team in preset windows of support blocks. These often range from a week to two weeks max depending on the pipeline needs of the Facebook product itself. Meaning we had a small support window at a set time which we had to work backwards from for setting design deadlines.
